DOUBLEDAYS DISTRICT TO BATTLE BASEBALL’S BIG BOYS

In an attempt to compete with larger baseball teams that have claimed their own nations or been declared empires (and evil ones at that), the Auburn Doubledays are starting the Doubledays District. Nations and world powers are often born from a small movement. In Minor League Baseball, there are few cities as small as Auburn, New York (jewel of the Fingerlakes). But its people are strong, proud and ready to join together to form the Doubledays District and take on those big market nations and empires.

The District is being established in hopes of one day becoming a nation. Until enough members are gathered, the Doubledays District will continue its steady growth. As members are added, an active tally will be posted at Falcon Park. Current membership is at five!

Those interested in joining the District may call the District Offices at (315) 255-CITY (we are working on getting a phone number with DISTRICT in it). For just $10 (plus $3 shipping if fans can't stop down to the District office), District members will receive a Doubledays District T-Shirt hand numbered by District founder, Abner, a District flag (aka Doubledays pennant) and a welcome letter from Abner.

Minor League Baseball was built on the backs of small cities like Auburn and the District will show that the small city still reigns supreme.

In other Doubleday promotional news, Abner’s Plan (the Doubledays solution to global warming) was nominated for the Veeckies by ESPN the Magazine and is named as a honorable mention on the ESPN the Magazine website.
